Prayer focus's and a trip to Jinja
This past 2 weeks has been filled with so many moments to Praise God about. I had really been praying and seeking God on how can we really bring an impact to the girls so they can really get to know you and rely on you. This week we have 13 girls graduating from hair dressing and so i new that once they are graduated they will have the means to go and find jobs and that the stress and this newness is here again. I know that they will have challenges and so i was like God you need to have them centered in you…. or they will fall back into prostitution. Last Monday one of the girls said can we have a lunch time fellowship and they all went into one of our smallest rooms and worshiped and prayed. I was all up in a roar of excitement and went in w/ them and had the best fellowship. We only had about 6 of us, i came back on Wednesday with a friend of mine and she new my heart about wanting the girls to know Christ more. This time i think all but about 5 girls were in there worshiping and praising God. They have been doing this every day. And to watch someone pray and worship and really worship in there native language and give it all to the Lord is one of the most beautiful things to see. PRAISE GOD….. not only are they seeking you, but it was one of the girls who started it… Thank you Lord for the victory.
Then as I was leaving the center I was on a boda boda and headed to my taxi when i get to this intersection and we are stuck in jam. But i look over and the absolute cutes kid in a wheel chair is parked on the side of the road w/ his friend and an officer is giving them a lecture and you can see he is being very stern with them. (actually probably giving them a few words on not to be in the middle of traffic begging as they are coming down hard on all beggars in the city). I just sat there and prayed over them and asked God to please take care of the situation. And all of a sudden the police officer looks up at me and gesters his hand and smiles like it’s al well. It seriously was one of those moments that was not of me, but the Lord moving because the way the officer looked at me was not him looking at me as Sarah. He has no clue i was even there praying over these boys, because the boys didn’t even look my way he directly did like confirming that all was well w/ them.
Then i get on my taxi and head towards home about 1/2 way 2 girls get on that i had met about a month or so ago and they are all getting in and we are all greeting each other and talking about how they will come visit me next week and the whole bus mind you is silent and just looking at me and how is this white lady friends with these two. I think they sometime get thrown back that i am not just a visitor but i live here. Anyway after we get to our stage (drop off point for taxis’) i get out and the girls and I get caught up on life and Fatimah says i was just downtown trying to interview for a job they said was available and then i get there and they said no they are not interviewing. So i said lets pray about it, and it was funny we all literally jumped and held hands all 3 of us like it was the excitement of our lives and i prayed right there in the middle of this busy taxi stage w/ people bumping us from all around.
I tell you all of these stories because i want to you to know that I give all this glory to the LORD… I have found a boldness that i never had and as he prompts me I have been more faithful in doing it and not worrying about what is surrounding me. I have a friend who was going through something got a call on the phone we were in the middle of the supermarket in the female beauty isle and i turned around and said ok lets lift this up to God, I started praying w/ him.
the Wheels on the bus go round and round
On a fun note with children. I had to travel to Jinja to renew my travel visa yes 3 months will be up on Jan 3rd and with the new year and holiday i was like lets get this thing done know. So we stopped by my friend Jean Kaye’s project and they had put in a play ground and I just had so much fun…. I was the bus driver and the little ones just enjoyed the imagination of this crazy lady. The wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round…… but since we are in Uganda the wheels on the bus go bump bump bump, bump bump bump…. like popcorn all over town. We had a blast or should i say Sarah needed some kid time.
I also had a loss in our family this week my Aunt Bert passed away and she has gone home to see the Lord, please lift up her children 3 and grand children 4 all under the age of 6 as they work through this holiday season and the grief of loosing there loved one.
