October Halloween
Mad carving skills then we made soup.........
So many wonderful things that happened this week. I finally was able to find Amos and he actually came back from the village and we meet with a friend of mine Moses and we had coffee. Amos updated me with the last 10 months since i last saw him and his story just tore my heart apart. After leaving he lost his maze crops to drought. and then he got engaged in January and the day before Easter actually he had just dropped off food for her to take home with her and he left and came back to work a few more hours. She was waiting to cross the road it was about 930 pm and she was hit by a drunk driver, who nocked her into a small ditch and then proceeded to run over her to make sure she was dead so she didn’t sue him for hitting her. Since this time he has returned to the village and worked very hard at using the 1 ache of land that he has and is growing tomatoes, green peppers and carrots. He put in a pond to keep water available for when it is drought. He said he is so happy and enjoying his time there he said his mom and dad just love him and he stays with them. he does work a few days a week on the motorcycle and delivers things to people. He has another bike and for most of you who contributed i continued to talk with him and ask him his goals and he said he wants to stay in the village. but he still wants to learn english and had only finished p4 which is really only grade school by our standards. Why i took my friend Moses with me is that he has a business that supplies cars and drivers to people who come to visit for safari or missionary teams or anyone who needs the services. Since i can recommend Amos’t temper and how he exhibited great service and honesty and work ethic, Moses is willing to hire him… In order to do that his english needs to be better and he needs to get an actual vehicle license. So what i offered to do and we worked out a plan, he will come for 1 week a month and I will pay for school. I will give him one round of lessons for driving a car and then this way he can still be in his village and he is training his cousin who can saty and do the work for the week. Our goal is to hire him and he can work a week here a week there when he is asked. He can also bring his motorcycle and work while he is going to school so he can pay for his food and what nots. He said he can stay with his auntie while he is here. I know that this will give him incredible opportunity and a future.
This kid is like a son to me and when he told me of his fiancé he just cried and just cried. God has been with him this whole time and the challenges have been able to give him a new perspective on life, he likes the village life. He likes being a farmer. And i know were my tomatoes and carrots are coming from. Amos….

Pray for colleges and friends here in Uganda and for those who are seeing the effects around them of Human Trafficking. We pray for provisions and guidance as we move forward in helping the vulnerable groups of people being effected here.
Praise report: the center is moving a long w/ such amazing projects and opportunities for the girls to learn hair dressing and opened up a salon, an organization is teaching other girls to make baskets and also have had opportunities in candle making. we pray as we move forward with other projects and means of income generated ideas that it is something that the girls themselves are pursuing and coming up with.
Amos (my driver from last year) has has a really bad year please lift him up to keep trusting God and his plan for his life.
