It has been one of those weeks where I did the football touch down dance and spiked the ball and got a penalty.  I have also been break dancing while driving and sitting in jam. It has just been one of those weeks……. 

A college and I went out to a town called Masole and we spoke w/ 30 students about human trafficking.  We role played the lover boy scenario, my rendition of a lover boy was humorous and gave a bit of imagination for these students to walk away with. I know down deep they think I am crazy, but whatever I can do to impact them to remember and make better choices in the future.  We then did a little break out session and had the students compile a poster and show what they had learned, and then each group had a representative talk about their poster. The interactive skits for the youth were key; it provided an alternative style of learning. Typically students learn through rote memorization, thus the students just repeat what is written on the chalkboard and then write it in their notebooks. So it is fun to watch their creativity come a live when they are actively engaged in the learning process. My college Allen even noted how effective this activity was and we want to adopt

it in the awareness campaign we are preparing to do over the next 8 months.

We were awarded a grant to bring awareness into schools, community centers, churches and orphanages. We will then pick 5 ambassadors from each facility and teach them about human trafficking and then have them come up w/ the best way to bring awareness to their peers.   I am really excited about all the people we will partner with and all the young people we will come in contact with.
