I will also have a table w/ information about the girls I am working with and the Center in Uganda, and local organizations that I will be partnering with. If you are unable to come out and run but would still like to donate please visit www.cten.org/sarahmiles to give today.
I was able to spend time in New Bern North Carolina again and welcome into our family granddaughter #2 Anatella. She is just the cutest thing ever. I also enjoyed hanging out w/ my 1st granddaughter Ryland, and boy did we enjoy getting into trouble and being twinsies. She is so much fun and just a cool kid to hang out with. While I was there I went to Raleigh NC and was able to go to a prayer breakfast before heading over to a blessing of liberties, we prayed w/ Senators in a courtyard/mall area w/ local agencies that are working to end Human Trafficking. It was such an incredible event and power time of worshiping and praying. I have been working with the Pearl ministry (who put on the event) and have an opportunity to train with them in a few areas before I head back to Uganda. One is a 3 day training that will give me skills to train other on how to work and provide the best outcome to girls who have been trafficked. It will give me the education I need to go back and train the staff at the Center and Home of Rahab Uganda as well as other organizations in Uganda who are doing the same thing we are. It will give me a base to teach others and travel and share the best practices. The program is written by a woman Beth Grant who has been working in India for several years she and her husband are founders of Project Rescue and organization that U COUNT from Timberline works directly with. The second opportunity that was presented is that I met a woman who was trafficked from Moldova and is now living in Greece, She ministers to Nigerian girls who are in the brothels of Greece were prostitution is legal. The model that she uses is incredible and something that would fit w/ the demographic of girls I am working with. She also has a program that is funded were in eastern European countries they are training girls from the local community in Human trafficking awareness and allowing them to organically work in a 3 month window of time with a stipend to go out and campaign in their local community the way they see best. It is an incredible way to educate people of the effects and to raise awareness. The other opportunity that I have is an internship with a local nonprofit, Help International. I will be able to work for them until I need to return to Uganda. I look forward to the community awareness and partnerships I get to build being there volunteer coordinator. Not only that Jean Kaye the founder is my mentor and also wants to partner with me in Uganda. I am so blessed to have these incredible women in my life who are training me and preparing me for what the Lord has called me to do.
In order to continue moving forward and gaining the education that I need I will need additional funding. If everyone on my mailing list gave me a suggested donation of 25.00 I would be able to go and do all the training. Please also consider getting involved. I am looking for people who will help out with an event that will take place in August and also someone who can work on my website and just help me finalize it.
